Atari's Bowling lets one or two players go for the sport's ultimate achievement -- a perfect game. A horizontal view of the lane has the pins stacked to the far right with a bowler on the left. Players can position their bowler up or down, and in some variations use the joystick to "steer" the ball after it has been released. The physics aren't perfect, but they are pretty decent, and the pins fly when hit, allowing players to try for tougher spares, including splits. While the bowlers look good enough, overall the graphics and sound effects are simplistic. The onscreen scorecard adds to the enjoyment.
